Hey guys,
Just bought a PS3 60GB of a mate, which I am selling straight on (damn car insurance  )
Basically, it's a hong kong model right, don't be put of yet!
It plays ALL pal games and ALL blueray DVD's just like a UK one would.....great, that's why you buy a PS3!
The only difference is (im told) PS2 games and DVD 5's (normal dvd's) are regioned locked......so just means you can't play your PS2 games or DVD's on it.............but i'm sure you all have a DVD player right?
And your buying a PS3, who needs PS2 games 
I mean someone may know how to play different regions on them, I know nothing about PS3 (I'm an xbox man)

2x Official controllers
HDMI Cable
Boxes with manuals and in A1 condition
people are welcome to pick up, otherwise offers inc PaP please, no stupid offers as these go for over £300 on ebay.
Like I said, works exactly the same as a UK PS3, the box and manuals are all in English, the OS is all in English...just PS2 games are region locked (Apparently this is how it is on the 40GB version anyway?)

Are you sure you can't play UK PS2 games on it?
I m after a 60GB version as its annoying to have my PS2 with my 40GB as I have a large collection of PS2 games I still like.
So if it doesn't play UK PS2 games, how is the 60GB version (apart from HDD space) different from the 40GB i have at the moment?

Mate I honestly couldn't tell you, I've never played on a PS3 in my life, or even owned a Playstation (apart from psp).
When it arrives, i'll rent a PS2 game or borrow one from somewhere and try.
It has more space I know that lol, not sure what the other differences are, I'll have a look

I'm pretty sure the 40GB doesn't have card readers either, whereas the 60 does?

correct. the 60gb also has 2 extra usb ports and a chrome finish around the disk drive

Ah right kool, i'm still reading info, just doign 5 things at once lol.
I thought, I wonder if Gamestation would even ask?
Might take it down and just not say anything and see how much they offer.
Will take pics when it arrives for people interested.

The 60gb has an extra 2 usb ports, memory card readers, SACD playback, and playstation2+ playstation 1 backwards compatibiliity.
Because this isnt a uk 60 gb ps3 it wont be able to play any uk brought ps2 games, ps1 games or dvds.
Where as the 40gb playstation 3 lacks extra usb ports, memory card readers, SACD playback and playstation 2 compatibility. But does have full playstaion 1 compatibility and the ability to play all uk dvds. |

How much do you think it's worth then?
I mean, it plays PS3 games and blueray DVD's perfect, it's just older PS2 games it won't.
Any rough price on what it's worth?
Also, how do gamestation and game check for things like that?

If I bought 1 from argos, then switched them over, the jap for the uk one...and took it back and said, it's ok my sister bought 1 from you the other day I don't need this 1 any more........what's the chances of them checking

i would say less than that as it has no warrenty here either. Plus uk 40gbs are easily upgradeable to 60gb hard drives or higher, plus they play ps1 games and normal dvds. |
