C702 isn't out on vodafone, but why does the k800 media player suck?

The media player is fine... its basic, if you're just using it to listen to your music, not too big on having it sorted 100 different says, and making custom playlists its fine...
this phone is nice and cheap now, £65 on paygo?
Plus it has xenon flash... |

Out of SE phones, I would say the K800 is the best deal.
There is the K810, but the two are alike.

How about when comparing the K850i with the K800i? Does the K850i bring many advantages? Or would I be better off with a less expensive K800i? |

it depends... some people say k800 modded camdriver is better then k850 and some say not... k850 sharpness is good... but night picture suck |

I have had my K800i for almost two years now, without any major problems. I still use the original battery, even though I feel that the capacity has lowered a bit since it was new.
The model still has features that newer models don't have, like the xenon flash, for example.
The media player is BASIC, it's OK for listening to music, it has the basic functions to play, pause, fast forward, skip to next, etc, and you can searc my title or by artist, found in the ID3 tags, and you can create your own playlists etc, but several features availabe in the walkman models are missing. The most annoying missing feature is the possibility to see which song is the "next" in queue while playing.
The camera is OK for being a mobile phone camera, but it's nothing compared to a real digital camera. Picture quality is OK in good light, (the xenon flash helps in darker environment, but the capacity of the flash is limited), but the camera is very slow compared to my Canon EOS 400D. camera. The BestPic feature is a very rare feature not found in many newer models, and essentially, it takes nine pictures when you press the shutter button, 4 a short time before the button press, one at the press, and 4 after the button press, and then you can choose to save one or many of the photos. The lens cover is annoying, since it sticks out outside of the profile of the housing of the phone, so that it stucks in things and may open by mistake when you don't want it to. That design has been improved in the K810 model.
For storage of pictures and music, it supports m2 memory sticks, I use a 4GB card without any problems, and I have heard that people have been able to use 8GB as well.
It has a quite powerful web browser which also can read standard web pages, not only wap pages, even though it does not support java applets or macromedia flash etc, and most javascripts is not supported either. It lacks WLAN, and HSDPA which and this is a few issues that makes this phone out of date.

buy a k810 instead. slimmer, much better lens cover, best batterylife of all phones (10 h talktime ).
my friend have a k800 with very good sound. he have some modded driver with megabass.

IMHO, the K800i is ugly. That was my impression the first time I saw the phone, and I still think so, even though I own one. I did not buy mine for the looks of it, but for the functionality. A much nicer model, with almost the same technical specifications, is the K770i model. It doses not have the xenon flash, but the lens cover is integrated with the housing in a much better way. And the phone is much thinner, almost half the thickness of K800i. Only weird thing with it is that the fastport connector is located on one side of the phone instead of having it placed at the bottom, as it is on the K800i. |
