Why, oh why, after formating my hard drive, hunting every possible software, every driver out there for the XP 64 bit OS, the last thing I install, PC Suite, is NOT compatible with it!@#%!@

Now, what am I supposed to do with my P1i? Use it as a memory stick???

SE, you did it again. No XP 64bit support for your flagship phone. Thank you.

Is there not any kind of compatability mode in XP64? Try right clicking the installer, and checking properties for a compatibility tab.

I've never used XP64, but XP32 has a variety of options..

Some people here have reported that they've been able to install PC Suite after installing the drivers from here.

But I don't know if the above works for both (PC Suite & SEUS), or if it works at all.

For SEUS you may also check this article.

Why use XP 64-bit? Do you use a lot of RAM?

AD, there is a compatibility mode, but no go. I unpacked the .exe installer, and tried to run PCSuitex64.exe, but I guess it is made for Vista 64bit only...

myth, I have already read through the manuals there, but frankly, I don't have the nerves to go and hack the install, just to have the basic functions available.

hamlyn, yes, I do use a lot of ram. Well, kinda, I only have 4 GB, but plan to add 4 more. Demanding applications...

I might just ditch the PC Suite alltogether, since the software is stupid enough to not allow syncing two mobile numbers in Outlook, from my address book, so I have to save my contact's second, third e.t.c. mobile numbers as pagers, fax numbers. Simply embarrasing...

Mobile Phone Explorer does all this with no effort, I am waiting for the full support for my P1...

that's annoying... I sympathise completely - I have Vista Ultimate x64 and it's fine with that! - it seems rediculous if they are doing 64 bit drivers for Vista that they can extend it to XP

I'm glad that you are not as desperate as you seemed to be in your first post

But I agree, it's not understandable, why Vista x64 is supported and XP x64 is not.

hi eokorie, and thanx for linking to your blog post. Informative, and I will try it.

However, I had to revert to x86 for a while, just to sort out some other driver issues, and frankly, seing how smooth everything installs on it, I am tempted to stay on it, and do a dual booth to use my RAM efficiantly...

myth, I wasn't desperate, only mad at SE, since I am paying premium for their product, I expect premium in return, not some half written software...

Sony Ericsson Pc Suite for Smartphones WinXP x64

This zip file contains a modified version of the Sonyericsson PcSuite for Smartphones installer to work on
Windows XP 64 and the 64 bit Drivers for SonyEricsson Symbian Smartphone (e.g. P800, P910, P990, P1)

Just follow these steps:

1.) go to "Sony Ericsson x64 Drivers" and run Setup.exe, this is necessary do be done, manual install won't work, the Drivers are unsigned, so you will have to accept them
2.) Go to "Sony Ericsson PCSuit" and run "PC Suite for Sony Ericsson.msi" this will install the PC Suite
3.) Restart your PC
4.) Plug in your Phone, when the Driver messeges appear select autoscan, and again accept the unsigned drivers.
