Palm Tungsten T w T68i or P800? |

What should I buy? Palm Tungsten T w T68i or P800? I am tempted to buy the p800 but i am afraid it follows the lifespan of a phone (1 year to 2 years). Whereas if I buy the Palm w/ T68i I can upgrade my phone without upgrading my palm, and vice versa.
Btw, let me know if they are coming up with the successory of the t68i as that would take the place of the t68i in this equation. thanks! |

I'd get the palm and t68i, tbh.
Like you said, if you get both then you can upgrade one when you want to and keep the other.
imo, anyway.

I was gonna get the P800.
But after some thinking, I`m gonna keep my t68i and buy a IPAQ 3975 or 5450.
When it`s time to upgrade, you can take one thing at the time.
And after the t68i, the P800 will be to big to carry around.
When I dont need the PDA features, I just take the phone with me. |

The T300 is NOT the upgrade of the T68i, it's a downgrade... the T300 is stripped down version aimed at the lower end market. It has very limited connectivity options.
I wouldn't recommend the TT unless you're after the 'looks' factor. I'd go for Sony's new NX-series Clie's running the new 200mHz CPUs. (Just a note, the P800 is running a 200mHx CPU as well)
In the end, it all depends on you... would you want to carry around 2 specialized devices, or just an all-in-one? It's really up to you! |

I would hardly call the T300 a downgrade of the t68i just because it bluetooth. The T300 has Polyphonic tones and java, but i do agree that the phones are aimed at different markets

Thanks JpLacson! I would prefer a sony (since they always have better features than Palm) but the NX series has no bluetooth capabilities right? My original option was SOny t-665 , but to add bluetooth to it would make it cost more that the tungsten. Same results with the NX series I guess.
Thanks for he info guys, keep em coming. I think my default is the PAlm/ERicsson combo, but Im just tempted by the heads to be turned if I had the P800:) |

I have a Palm T|T with a T68m->i and it works just fine And the Palm software library is really great !
I'm looking forward to change my phone but I don't know what to buy... The P800 would be great if its size were smaller... I think the Siemems S55 (T68 like / polyphonic sounds, Java and GPRS class 10 added) will be my next phone, with a HBH-60

Hi folks!
does anyone know when the Sony Clie NX70v is coming to the UK?
Expansys has had 14 days expected for so many weeks now!

Well, as a functional phone only, the T300 is rather limited in it's PIM functions... no calendar & scheduler functions, no sync function. No bluetooth means the T300 is pretty useless with the Palm TT.
IR is fine, but it's so annoying to use on the move. I never used a PDA+celfone combo prior to Bluetooth for that reason.
I do like the java games and ringtones of the T300. I don't like the fact that it's bigger than the T68i though.
The T300 is a great entry level color-screen phone. I want one myself, as the 'little brother' of my coming-soon P800
If you want a low-cost celfone option for the Palm TT...get the Ericsson R520 or T39. Both offer GPRS and Bluetooth that would work just fine as a mobile modem for your Palm |

@ngel! thanks.
I hope it gets here soon. I am not sure whether to get the SonyNX70v or a Tungsten.

Im going to go the route you suggested!! The T68i/my T39m with a Palm TT!
Y----> Mainly first off the most usuable applications in number and real world usuability is on the Palm then the PPC (HP iPaq 5400 series).
Secondly only the HP iPaq 5400 series supports the Bluetooth headset profile of all adapters (SD, CF I/II) on the PocketPC camp. While the Palm TT with its imbedded Bluetooth ver 1.1b chip is upgradeable (when Palm decides to do this) to support the Bluetooth headset profile---which you cannot get with Palms BT SD card.
Just think voice notes and recording of phone call conversations with your BlueSpoon headset (BT), your T68i/T39m onto SD card with your Palm TT. Say how about voice commands to launch apps or speech to text from a BT Headset to your Palm TT.
Any other ideas that can pose this functionality???! |

@@ngel: Has your T|T accumulated dust in the screen? There are reports that some units do get dust in their screens as mentioned in this thread. It's actually holding me back from buying a T|T.
