With the help of highly advanced alien technology, Hop-on, Inc. has released a so-called “Anti-iPhone” Spartan phone called the HOP1800, which is capable of making calls with over 40 domestic wireless carriers. It’s the company’s take on a disposable phone, and with its method it has done it quite nicely, albeit it takes away some necessary features. So much for the existence of a 1900 model phone (though it could still be released in the future).

Here’s a quick list of specs courtesy of the HOP1800’s product page:

* Bands: Dual-band 850/1900MHz or 900/1800MHz
* Battery: Standard Li-Ion 600mAh
* Battery Life: Talk time 4 hours; Standby time 150 hours
* Ringer: Polyphonic (16 Midi)
* Embedded Vibration: Yes
* SIM Lock: Yes
* Keypad Lock: Yes

Not surprisingly, the HOP1800 will not include a screen of any kind (to keep the costs low), and in lieu of that it offers a tactile numeric keypad with Braille markings, which according to Hop-on is something that “touch screen cell phone users are longing for.”

The Hop-on HOP1800 is now available.
