Need advice on debranding W910i please |

Alright everyone.
As the subject suggests I have looked (albeit cursory checks) for some info on how to debrand my Orange SE W910i but cant find what I need.
- Can someone please tell me how to debrand my phone safely by myself, with step-by-step instructions
- What the risks are and how to avoid them
- What to do if my phone breaks and I need to send it back to Orange
Thank you, also if there are steps on how to do this yourself then please attach a link.
Appreciate it.
Take care,
RagingBull

hi and welcome
this is the truth: you cant debrand it by yourself. you will need an online website to get it done for you.
visit www.davinciteam.com for more info.
this phone is an A200 which makes it not supported by the free programs(xs++, setool lite, far manager...) out there.

That is unfortunate, maybe I will wait a while then. The price looks too steep at the moment. I think for A2 phones it is about $80, which is £40 GBP.
Thanks for the info though. |

I've heard www.kulankendi.com can do it for a lot cheaper, check it out. |

Any news on whether it can be debranded yet without using an online service? |

Davinciteam costs 10 credits (10 euros, £8.21(ish)) to debrand/FLASH. Not £40. I can't stand it when people jump to conclusions.

its $80 for unlocking though, i think that's where people are reading from.
regarding if ur phone breaks, I've heard many people flash it back to their branded FW before going into orange if the phone still turns on, and im not too sure but i think if u cant turn ur phone on, neither can the guys at the service centers unless they completely erase ur phone in which case ur customized FW will be flashed back.
correct me if i wrong though |

Flashing( debranding) renders warranty from the provider.
There are quite a no of bugs in the w910i and k850i firmwares where the phones stops working ie only the keypad lights up, BROD etc.
These are minor issues and flashing the phone sorts the problem.
But if you want to claim the warranty from your service provider, you will have to go back to the service provider firmware(branded one).
And there is not much risk falshing the phone , its a simple and straight forward procedure.

I can agree it is simple and forward procedure, that HAVE TO be completed successfuly in order to be successful... You don't have chances for misstakes, if you make misstake you can damage one of the phone's built it softwares... I mean, EROM, GDFS, MAIN or FS...
Main and FS can be fixed by repeating the flash procedure again, but GDFS still has to be the original one in order to be successfuly backed up... Damaged EROM will result in "no usb flash connectivity" of the phone, so you won't be able to connect it to PC in order to flash it...
So be careful while flashing

while flashing there is very minimal change of gdfs or something getting damaged.
if you stop flash in between its only main that gets affected, so you can repeat and fix it.
note:- davinci will use up the credits on finalization.

so does that really mean if say ur cam screws up and u flash it back to branded FW they wont know anything's be modded? ie will own up to the warranty?
and flashing via an online service obviously does have some risks but overall its very simple and safe (IMO). i did my phone couple weeks back after uni, took about 40mins to download the files and flashed in about 10min no probs.

Well if they have closer look of the phone software they can figure out it has been flashed with third party software which breaks the warranty, of course... But most of the service centers don't see this so you may pass
