Hi All,

I just bought a brand new 960i on ebay and i cant get the thing to work.

I first switched it on without a sim card and it had a loading progress bar in the middle, i let it load - selected the language, selected phone mode then it said - Insert Sim card.

So i put m o2 simcard in and switched it on again and now the vodafone logo comes on (splash headbeat intro thing) and it turns itself off again. It is now in a constant cycle of this with or without the simcard?!?!?!

What is going on with my poor phone

Many thanks for your help..

It could be locked, so you could try getting it unlocked using a site like http://www1.davinciteam.com/index.html?pro=world.

It won't be locked.Vodafone didn't lock their W960's.You have a boot system fault on the phone (both the W960 and P1 have had this problem reported). I've managed to get a few to start up normally by using davinci to reflash the software, power up the phone without a sim in so the software installs properly and then another reflash using SEUS. As i said earlier.Vodafone didn't lock the W960 so don't bother trying to unlock it as you will be wasting your money.

Thanks for your help guys.

I did the SEUS with the USB cable and it came back to life! Phew!!!

It has now been working fine since and was UNLOCKED.

Just wondered though - could you point me in the direction of any previous threads about debranding the software from being Vodafone?!

Many thanks
