Hi gang,

New here so go gently please.

So, my wifes K800 progressively died, no reason.....it just did.....lots of repeated restarting etc.........until finally, it wont even turn on. I get the red flashy light in the IR port when i plug it in to the mains or try to start but thats all.

So, i tried this XS++ thing that is all over this site.

Thing is, pressing "C" is not what gets the phone recognised, its pressing "2" and "5", i guess thats just trivial anyways.

XS++ does the first part of the phone detecting but gets no further.

I also tried wotclient and even though i delete the login details, it tells me invalid account.

Help

looking on it.
"So, my wifes K800 progressively died, no reason.....it just did."

I would first check the status/condition of the batery before using any flashing stuff.

try replacing another battery if available.

Thanks for the reply....

How do i check the battery with a dead phone?

Would the battery affect it even though it is connected to the mains?

one of the reason why a red flashy light in the IR port indicates a empty battery.

Check it by replacing a good batery on your wifes K8

The same has happened with my K750 in the past... Just put the phone on charging and forget it for a day or two... But make sure the the charger is connected properly and if the phone was on, it would be charging...

Then see if it turns on or not...

If it doesnt help by recharging or wiht another battery, try kulan( google it). I fixed a k800i with the same problem. Download it, open the program, username and password: kulan. Click updat erom and press flash, connect the fone. It took me 4 sec to repair it.

Cheers for all of the responses gang.....

I ended up getting a credit for wotanclient (only 7 euros) and that allowed me to get the phone started.

Still did the white screen restarting but used seus to update teh firmware and that took care of that.

great job gang

Thanks
Andy
