Hey all,
After watching the gadget show and always wanting one as a kid, i'm thinking about getting a radio controlled car, I don't want something amazing which I can tune and upgrade etc.
I want to buy it, use it, charge it.....bout it!
I'm looking at these 2, I think they are the same, what do you guys think?

The picture is a bit vague on the first one.
But if it were me, I'd deffo go petrol! I don't care how many times they failed on the gadget show, they'd still be my choice.

Wasn't it the Nitro one's that kept stalling, not the petrol ones?
I know petrol is better.....but what about for a complete n00b who just wants to have it in the back of his car for when he gets bored?
Also, petrol is 112p here....think i gunna bung that into an RC car lol |

They're not real RC's, they're toys!
Go to a hobby shop or model shop for the real thing not the childs toy, you'll get way more out of it

I'm pretty sure it was both petrol and nitro.
Either way, I'd have a petrol one, you'll get used to the speed in no time and it saves you having to buy a car twice.
It can't be THAT thirsty, can it?

I had one of these as a kid. It used to pull wheelies on the local astro turf.

I agree. Basically, if it isn't made by Tamiya or Kyosho you don't want it.
I had a 1/10 scale Tamiya Frog, 1/12 scale Tamiya Porsche 959 Paris-Dakar replica and a 1/10 scale Tamiya Bearhawk when I was younger and they were heaps of fun. 1/12 scale cars are too small to be practical so the bigger the better. Electric cars are fun for beginners but if they weigh more than 1.5 kg they are too slow. You want a motor that exceeds 22,000 rpm if you want some real speed (40 km/h+). Kyosho cars are harder to assemble for a beginner but run rings around a Tamiya in races, at least my mates one did. The suspension design and dampers were awesome!
If you want to get serious though it's the petrol/Nitro cars to go for. They are REAL fast! (70 km/h+)

Yer I read about the good make cars, but I havn't got £70 odd to spend on one, if I get into this cheap 1 and get some fun out of it then I might consider getting a better one, going for petrol or nitro etc, but will see how I get on.
I used to have one like that in green

im with paul nitro is more fun but not really for novice unless you get the engine run in well first, i used to race nitro 1/8th scale stadium trucks,

My brother's really into it, prolly spent well over £1k in the past few years, even helped set up a local off road RC club, which was going pretty well till they had a 'change of leadership' and he got kicked out :/
And correct me if I'm wrong, but Petrol/Nitro = same thing? He always used to tell me off for saying petrol when the real name is Nitro.

i'd say go for electric for the newbee
model planes, i find are far more exiting (besides you ca crash them a whole load more spectacularly  )
