AT&T international SMS |

It seems that AT&T allows international SMS now, though it's far from perfect. I sent a couple to a friend in England, and he got one of them after about a day. It was the one I'd addressed starting with 011 instead of +. The message that I'd addressed as +44...just disappeared, though my phone said it had been successfully sent. I want my $0.10 back.

Sounds like typical AT&T service.
I've also had day-long lags between sending and receiving SMS's. And that was with another domestic AT&T user!
So the 011 works, not the +44? I havn't yet sent an international SMS, but I've been wondering how to do it. So thanks for the info.
By the way, anytime an SMS dosn't go through, you CAN can call AT&T and have them credit 0.10 to your account.

Attention AT&T! You'd better start supporting MMS or I'm switching to T-Mobile! |

Right, sending it to 01144<his number> worked, but sending it to +44<his number> (which is how you're supposed to do it i think) didn't work.

the standpoint from the collateral is that international SMS is not supported, just so you know

I use 011. I always thought that + was just the local international access code, so in the US it should translate to 011. Right? |

What's the code for the United States?
If my phone number is 818-207-XXXX, then how should the whole international number read with int'l code and US code?
Also, do I include a 1 before the 818?
Thanks |

Well, it depends where someone's calling you from. They would dial their country's int'l access code, then 1-818-your number.
If you want to message someone in another country, you would send it to 011-country code-number without the leading zero if it has one. |

T-Mobile international SMS works extremely well. My friend and I timed it and discovered an average delivery time from Germany to USA is around 4 minutes. |
