try sports mode 1 & 2 when daylight.I am using this one for over a month now and works fine.Noise is low and can control shutter speed.This means that you can make it brighter or darker not by setting the ISO (the reason for digital noise) but increasing or decr. shutter speed.ISO is locked at 100 & 200 (read info file) so in good light this is almost the lowest noise you can get.For mid light use mode 2.Remember that what you see on viewfinder is not what you get.Set it as you think that it is looks right and then lower 1 click or maybe 2 clicks for very bright days.I ve been trying a long time athese settings and they work fine.

the only difference between 2.99.9 SE2 and 3.0 is the exposure,you can achieve the same results as 2.99.9 by setting the EV to -0.3.
the modes are only extra options by selecting off you have the normal scenes and settings it is a advantage to use the correct modes but not necessary.
there is some logic to where the modes are placed
Mode 1 (solarize) is on most modes auto,portrait,landscape,Beach_snow,Document mode, the good light mode for shooting outdoor pics.
Mode 2 (Sepia) is on most modes auto,portrait,landscape,Document mode,Twilightlandscape, the night mode for very low-light pics.
negative, is always select effect with stick. |

yea thats it's it it doesn't apply to some scenes, but it applys to the most commonly used scenes.
mode3 is indoor (medium) light only on auto & portrait, mode3 can also be vivid sharp mode or shutter speed piroty mode on most scenes. |

@mimi14
mode1 solarise=ISO100
mode2 sepia=ISO200
ISO100 means less noise(less sensitivity).Shoot an object many times using mode1 and changing shutter with stick.If light conditions are good then you will see dif when you change shut.speed,from too dark pics to too bright pics.If light is not so good you won t see much dif,all will be more or less dark.Then you go to mode2,ISO200.This is more sensitive than 100 but more noisy.Maybe you won t notice it in some pictures because this is still low ISO . This will help with mid light pics.If u use mode2 and still pics are too dark the use a more sensitive mode.The lowest light there is the more ISO u need and of course the more dig noise there is.U can use portrait mode1.ISO is 400 so you have even brighter pics but noisy.You can "feel" it if u try some shots.
