K850i display query |

We have a new K850i and are quite impressed but there is a question mark over the display of photos. There appears to be a general something that one might describe as "in need of a wipe over" to remove a film when the phone is vertical, but when turned horizontal, there is a very obvious process whereby an initially bright image has a grey screen appliedover it one line at a time, rendering the image less bright.
Is this a "feature" or a setting we can change - or is the phone just broke??
Any offers?

Would you be able to post a photo of it? |

Have 2
You can see the top half here has the duller appearance - this is taken as the line goes down the image.
On this one the line is about a third of the way down.

just the phone "refreshing" the image... although it looks like it actually is blurring it out. It's normal, really.

I noticed this too when i first got my K850, and was like "wha". But it is just how it processes the images, and even if you don't like it doing so, you can turn it off, oh well!

Your phone is just fine. Indeed, this is a feature. When you open an image, the phone displays a quick preview that fits exactly on the screen, that's why it appears so clear and bright. But then it starts to render the picture at it's true size (resolution) - that's the line going down on the screen that appears to blur and grey the image - because only after it does this will the phone be able to let you zoom in or pan and see the image in its true 5 megapixels details. It can't be turned off, but I do believe that it's not being used when you watch your pictures using the slideshow.
K850i was the SE's most superb phone. And failure. Advanced to Android. |
