Why Debrand and Server Issues. |

Hey All,
I got an Orange branded Sony W910i recently. Going to get it unlocked so I can use my nice Vodaf number, but what advantages are there in debranding? The guy in the (independent) shop advised against it "they never work the same after... it's more trouble than it's worth" he said. Is he right? What will I lose / gain in debranding?
Also, the servers he needs access to to unlock always seem to be down. Is this common? What are the servers, and when will they be back? Are these the same ones as used by unlocking sites like TotalGSM and DaVinci?
How easy is it to do all this yourself?
Cheers

once you debrand your phone, you will get rid of all the orange things on your phone, let say it'll be as new.
well, maybe he's right about the servers down. as this is online you know there are ups and downs with the internet.

So is it just Orange logos I lose through debranding, or is there also some Orange functionality I lose?
And what about gains - what do I gain - anything?
Thanks |

yes, all orange stuffs that are in your phone(ringtones, wallpapaer, logos, customizations, etc).
what you gain? FREEDOM.
sometimes operators limits some of the phone's features(flashthemes, PlayNow, and some other things).
