would the camera free e51 perform better than the one with camera?
what i mean is that the absence of the camera module will decrease the burden on the phone & would that increase the phone's functional speed or help in any other way?
just curious.
@sony, lol, my nokia 9300 is also die hard 4 inspired.
@bobafett,
you have voiced one of my topmost worry.
i am used to browsing on the nokia 9300 & comparatively the e51's display is kinda miniscule.
i have not meant to belittle your effort in the least & do agree that reading the e series thread would surely not be a waste & plan to do so over the weekend.
regarding the operating system i totally share your preference & would anyday take nokia's symbian over se's uiq.
thanks again.
@all, strangely the imate jaq has not earned even one recommendation.
is it that lousy?
is it because it's imate or is it windows mobile itself? [addsig]

The fact, that the i-mate Jaq isn't mentioned, is probably due to the situation, that most people here don't know the phone, they talk Nokia and Sony Ericsson all day .
We also don't own a Jaq, but we have (had) several other i-mate, Qtek and now HTC devices, they served us well.
Keep in mind though, when you're not only reading your emails on the phone, but will also be typing them, this is very annoying on a normal keyboard, like that of the Nokia E51.
When you'll be typing a lot, you'll absolutely need a full (querty or whatever) keyboard.

@marly,
how would you rate imate as a company?
i have 3 o2 phones & one fine day i learnt that o2 shut down which makes me little apprehensive 'bout imate.
htc has not a single camera free phone with windows mobile operating system.
@all,
guys tell me honestly, is moving from nokia 9300 to e51 really an upgrade?
btw, i was so disgusted with the series60 e90 that i got rid of it in a week. [addsig]

I'll tell you why JAQ isnt mentioned. The phone is lousy looking, and its got no 3G or WiFi.

@qvga,
it's just a phone, i don't care if it's ugly. it's not like i have to sleep with it.
my 4 wheel drive is one ugly truck but as long as it delivers what i expect i'm satisfied.
the motorola razr is one hell of a looker but that's all it is, eye candy. if i wanted eye candy i'd buy a nokia sirocco.
looks, 3g & wi-fi were not on my list of pre-requisites. [addsig]
