Hi

I'm new here.

Just got my new K850i (upgraded from a K800). First thing i thought was "wow these buttons are fiddly". and I'm not 100% sure about the touchscreen thing but maybe just takes some getting used to...

anyway, I was wondering if anyone can help me out with a couple of things - how do I get the phone to display the time when it's locked ? I've been through all the menus but can't seem to find the right option (though I may be just being dumb here).

Also, is there anyway to remove the floating menu bar thing on the left hand side ?

and one last thing! How do I get it to display the alarm time on the front page ??!

sorry if these are really obvious things I'm just being a bit doh today!

Hey mate. Welcome to Esato.

You can't get it to continuously show the time on any SE phones with the new platform unfortunately. They took it out with what seemed to be no real reason ( they could have at least made it an option). They only thing you can do is get used to tapping the side volume key when you want to see the time. This lights up your screen so you can see it for a few seconds.

Sorry, I don't know what you mean by your second question.

Oh and for the alarm time, it should work... On my W910i (same software platform) it displays it on the bottom left.

I'm guessing that the floating menu bar is there because you got a branded K850.

yes - i'm on orange...

is the only way to get rid of it by de-branding the phone ? when I switch the phone on and off again I get the screen i want ie with the big clocktime, the alarm time displayed and no stupid floating menu thing, but then it just appears as if by magic. there must be a way to remove it, it's full of useless shortcuts that are there already with the soft keys.

Have you tried changin your theme yet? Hoping this helps if not I strongly suggest flashing ti to a generic firmware. Man orange really stanks in the GUI department.
