Tried on my P990, no difference in sound volume through headphones...
By the way, why have you written "if possible"??? Are you not sure of it yourself??? |

According to you, how much is the difference in volume??? Any idea in percentage???
Edit: Which headphones have you used??? I tried with HPM-85 and found no difference...

Huh, are you serious? When I use my HPM-82 on p1i the volume is WAY TOO LOUD even minimum volume, I need to mp3gain to decrease all my songs volume to 92db! I would say the speaker is too soft, but earphone is too loud! Anyway I have found a teachnique to decrease my volume even further through equaliser.
I really hope p1i has a slide volume control, like that of coreplayer, rather than control by fixed slots.

This patcher has bugs, when the patcher and 1020867a.cre are on my desktop the patcher says it was successfull when it did not even open and patch the file.
I traced it with filemon and it somehow was inserting stuff into the path instead of opening
C:\\Documents and Settings\\user\\Desktop\\1020867a.cre
It tried to open:
C:\\Documents and Settings\\user\\Desktop\\Settings\\user\\Desktop\\1020867a.cre
So of course it failed to open the file to patch it
I copied the files to e:\\tmp and ran it from there and it patched the file sucessfully as the file had a different cksum.
Not tested the volume yet, only have a DS220 BT headset with me at the moment, not sure if it suposed to affect BT stereo headphones?
Anyone using the patcher might want to run it in |

Yes! The patcher have bug! Thank you!
@all
If patching was true successfuly than must be backup file created! "1020867a.cre.bak"
Use it on root dir (c:\). Should work.

I use HPM-85 and the sound indoors at silence is only acceptable for me... Outdoors the volume ain't anything... I ain't deaf and I love loud music... |

@swmail:
The patched file works great. The volume increase is really noticeable (as you mentioned, around 40% - 50%). However, this only works for wired headphones. With A2DP Bluetooth headphones the volume is still low. I noted something interesting though: With the wired headphones I set the multimedia volume to 60%. Afterwards, when I paired the Bluetooth headphones, I noticed that the volume was set to 100%. Could it be possible that for Bluetooth devices, there is a "second multimedia volume" control? (a separate .cre file, perhaps?). I'd like to run some additional tests to double check it, but I wonder if you noticed the same thing or not. If my theory is not true, do you believe the Bluetooth device is limiting the sound directly? Great job anyway!
