Can I create Powerpoint slides on my PC and play them on a DVD player?

That site has a couple of links to software that might do the job

I don't know of any freeware stuff unfortunately.

^ Actually all those softwares create a dvd-video out of a ppt..even i have encountered only these through google..i'm looking for something that simply autoplays my ppt slide..when i burn it onto the dvd.

Powerpoint 2007 does this perfectly when i use the "publish to cd" option..but alas only for cd's..i don't understand how they could ignore dvd's in today's times...

Ah right!

copy n paste the following into notepad and save it as 'autorun.inf':

[autorun]
open=presentation.ppt

Where 'presentation.ppt' is the name of your file. Then, use any burning software such as Nero etc. to burn the .ppt file and autorun.inf to a DVD. Choose 'Data' as the type of DVD, not 'bootable' or such like.

This should run the PPT automatically when you stick the disc in. It works with CDs so I reckon it should work with DVD too

You showed me the light Cyco After all these years of googling...completely forgot about inf's...

Yes it worked and i even found a simpler method..if in future anyone wants to do this..just use the publish to folder option...and then burn the contents onto DVD..same result as what Cyco suggested...

Thanks again mate!
