Have you tried hard resetting, ie. taking the battery out for a while then replacing/rebooting? I only ask because if for whatever reason the TS driver has stopped working, removing the power will reset the memory & force it to reload on the next boot.

Can't tell what your problem is but AD's suggestion makes sense.

But you can still enter the service menu in order to format your disk, if you need to.

Just use the jog dial and * on the keyboard.

1 x Jog up
*
2 x Jog down
*
1 x Jog down

Can you not press the jogdial to confirm? Or use 'y' on the key pad - this works for confimation dialogues on my P1, I know the keypad's different but you never know..

loose connector onto the mainboard? Try unclipping and re-seating them maybe?

this happened to me a week after i got my m600 off ebay

i sent it to the service centre (keuhne + nagel in my case) who couldn't find the fault, so just sent me a new one as i could prove it was in warranty, so you'd be best off taking it to a service centre

this seems to be becoming a common problem among the m600s i've heard about
Mobile working solution:
Acer Aspire Gemstone Blue 6920G + DVB-T ExpressCard + Merlin XU870 + 3 5GB/mo Mobile Broadband
HTC TyTN II + T-Mo Flext 25 W'n'W
Nokia 5300 + T-Mo Everyone PAYG
