But why the software runs so differently on different phones? Take C905 VS C702 for example.

You mean C905 is faster? Like in scrolling thru menus and running applications?
Well, if C905 has better software implementation, then there's hope for better C702 firmware too.
Still I think a good multimedia telephone should have a faster processor or some kind of dual core (,one for media and applications, one for the phones interface and other processes).

AFAIK C905 is based on DB3210 while C702 and the others on DB3150, maybe they've improved something, however...
I've compared the C702 with my older K750 and W200 and sincerely I found the navigation pretty smooth without multitasking considering the animations... Also with 2 Games + Media in background it is still acceptable even if you can see the difference...
I also made a comparison with a W380 and the reactions were almost the same...
I'm using R3DA028...
EDIT: Yes, my fault, C905 is DB3210

From what I see C905 doesn't lag as much as C702.
Both phones are based on db3210.

What battery life do you get out of your C702?
I recharge every 2 days with fairly light usage. |

With 3G detection on all the time, flash lite themes, vibration, 50% brightness and ringtone volume at 6 mine lasts for a day. Oh, and I send/receive around 100 texts a day, and up to 30 minutes of calls. |

For emails I use the Java Gmail app and load it every once in a while (about 4-5 times a day). Do you think my battery performance is normal? |

my battery life last at least 2 days. i use heavily the internet and the media player.

So that means my average battery performance must be caused by poor reception down here. Living in an under construction area doesn't help either...

Mine can last up to 3 days, normally a bit more than 2 days... I hve 3G off, 90% brightness, some sms + browsing, vibration on and camera/media depend by the day... |

i've bought c702 for 2weeks with fw R3CA037
and then i updated it via SEUS to R3DA029.
two days after updating (and do some modding of the camdriver, acoustic, and display dirver) i've got some error with the phone.
fonts that are shown on the middle of the screen (such as menu, select, reply, view) was missing and sometimes only left one word or two.
select => se
reply => re
view => v
no 'yes'
no 'menu'
'drafts' missing
and i have to restart the phone, unless the error would go worse. such as, when i chose contact, but there's no contact list shown under the title. 
and it did happened to all menu (messaging, organiser, etc) and if i stayed longer with the error, the screen would be black, even if you press the keypad. but when i tried to call my phone from another phone, it rang, but nothing shown on the screen.
it's so distrubing if i have to restart it again and again.
i put back the original display driver, but it didnt fix the prob.
then I go to SESC to reflash my phone. but the problem hasn't fixed yet.
i hope somebody can help me fix this problem cos SE can't and this is so disturbing for me.
