well it has bugs, alot of them (sometimes you have a good phone, but there are times it goes wild, and these bugs apear). Like i said, if you SMS chat, after 5-6 SMS you will get the 7-8-9...th SMS delayed.. sometimes i got it after 4hours.. this is a software bug, and it isn't always present, but 50% of the times it is. It's faster, and now with coreplayer 1.25 it can read FLV files. Oh.. the camera is fair (5/10).

Could be both..
Sw problem caused by a certain software or a hardware problem (e.g. loose speaker plug).
Close any running application before starting the music player and check if the problem persists.
If yes, it's most probably a hardware problem, if not try to find out which application causes it.

hey guys, sorry if its been posted already.
but when listening to music with the ear phones that came with the phone, does anyone else have the problem of the volume changing from loud to soft and back? or is it just me? the actual volume level doesn't change (like the bar full, half way ect). is it fixable?
thanks =D |

azza871, I noticed that also with my G900, but you can fix it if you apply 'Sound mod lite' by swmail:
http://www.agathosyne.de/files_ext/se_uiq3_sound_mod_lite.zip
With this you will also get much stronger volume through the headset.

since uiq is officially been dropped does this mean updates for phones like the g900 will be really scarce / stopped altogether? its a shame cause I fell in love with the uiq concepts of having a phone book like the iphone and sms conversations like gmail |

Is there a 3rd party app for the alarm..the g900 is irritating cause 1)the alarm doesn't ring if the phone is on silent 2)the alarm doesn't ring if the phone is off...the former is more important as I don't want to wakeup everytime someone calls or sends a sms...but for god sakes the alarm should sound. |

You could put the phone into flight mode. The other thing that i have done is use themes as a substitute for profiles you normally get on SE phones.

Well both the G700 and G900 are no longer on the Sony Ericsson UK website! So I think that sums it up, very rare phones. I'm half thinking of swapping to a Nokia 6220 Classic, it has a better camera, runs faster and has much more games available for it. But then I loose the touch screen and Tom Tom won't run on it, but then again Route 66 does.
I just don't know anymore..... swings and roundabouts.
How much faster is the latest firmware over the UK Custom one? Is it much faster? Is the scrolling through your photos faster?

that really sucks its still on the India website and is selling like hot cakes here...guess its just sony's way of clearing stock by dumping it all in the asian market. |

I changed my UK firmware to the latest world firmware and couldnt believe the difference. It is seriously faster. I was hoping it would sort out the wrong calender alarm problem but no joy. This is a basic phone function that works properly on all pervious SE handests. SE UK Technical are absolutely useless and the phone is not fit for purpose. |
