It could be your simcard...

Its may not be a 3G one....

I sometimes have a similar problem with my N95 (happened with P990i too). Every so often when I have a 3G signal I cant make/ recived calls or sed/recieve texts. I have to switch to non-3G. It seems to be something with T-Mobile.

My brother has a Nokia 6233 on Orange. When he has a 3G signal full bars alot of his calls go to voice mail. I think its a network problem myself as i have heard of similar problems on 3. Its not Nokia but it could be sim card related in your case as my brother has 3G sim with full coverage. If its a network problem its not good enough what with all that capacity with 3G. Good luck.

I have just left T-Mobile due to this problem, i take it you are with T-Mobile ?. Anyway this happened to me with numerous different handsets and at various times of the day, sometimes lasting 3 or 4 days. On all my handsets i was showing a good 3g signal but could receive no calls or messages, unless i changed the settings to gsm only. It appeared that the phone was not able to automatically switch to gsm mode to get a better signal, like i said this occurred with many different manufacturers handsets.I am aware of another member who lives local to me who also has these problems with T-Mo.

Yeah i say must be network related as Orange and 3 get similar problems. Im with O2 never get any problems with them regarding the network.
