Hi all,

I know there aren't many fellow E90 owners but the new firmware has now appeared for APAC codes so i changed mine as was impatient for new firmware as always. The code i have used was 0544485.

All went well and it seems to be faster but that could just be done to new flash syndrome, i will be do a Part 2 review of the E90 now that i have this new firmware and have had my device for 3 months expect it soon.

Marc

Hi John

Well it's only been a few hours but it defiantly much faster and the new version of Quick Office is lightning fast where as before there was slight lag same goes for the PDF viewer to

I also now have a Dictionary in my installations folder and have added a couple of Widgets the best being a Weather Widget that works really well.

Now although it has improved speed and Flash Lite 3.0 and the Web Runtime Engine it certainly doesn't look like Demand paging has been added. In fact i would have to say that improved performance has come at the cost of slightly less Ram. But nothing terrible as i run Seven all ways on E-Mail i was used to having approx 73mb which has now dropped to just over 67mb which is still plenty and a price i am happy to pay for the speed increase.

I have never had any problems with stability or a lack of Ram and nothing has really changed as i said i will do a full review shortly.

Marc

Any sign of this becoming available for other territories?

Thanks,

Hi Dicky,

Wow that really is not good isn't there a way you could demand a fresh new unit by now?

@all

I am quite surprised that this update is still only available for a few product codes and really have no idea why. As for me it really has been a great upgrade and no ill effects for running the APAC code. Hopefully it should be available for all soon, although there are some suggestions that it will be a newer version released for all product codes.
