W580i Activity Menu Problem |

Hey all,
I'm not very cell phone savvy if you will but I'll try to explain my "problem". I have been searching and couldn't find anything so im posting it here.
I have the W580i phone with AT&T and whenver I recieved a new text message i would get a box that pops up telling me who it's from asking if i wanted to read it now (Yes or No).. it seems to have stopped doing that and im not entirely sure what i did to stop that pop up. Ive been reading the user guide and other posts on different websites that say to go to the activities menu which i can't seem to find.
I looked at pictures and descriptions of my phone and it says there is a button on the right side of the phone under the "C" but mine is an AT&T button that opens up a browser, not an activies menu (i tried looking through there which probably cost me money on data transfer fees).. i tried looking through the settings menu too and cannot find anything about an activies menu.
any help would be great, and please be specific because as I said before, im not too savvy with these things.

Normally if you're refering to the activity menu. It's button should be on the other side of the keypad to the online button. Looks like one box pointing to another one with am arrow. But it might have been reconfigured by at&t to do something else. You should also change the setting so that new notifications appear in a pop-up. Go to settings, and under the 1st tab find new event, or something of that nature, and you should be able to choose pop-up. Hope tis helpfull.

left: walkman
right: internet
i also tried looking for new event and the word popup anywhere on my phone and could not find it. |

looks like AT&T have removed the activity menu button from your phone, and replaced it with the internet one.
Then i'd guess there'd be no option to choose if new events appear in the activity menu, as it doesn't exsist on your phone.
Only thing i can suggest is that if you do click no when a message come through, you'll have to go to messaging and find the unread message in the inbox.
I hate operator branding!
