I think esato shouldn't use it. as esato is a world wide forum and if there's a need for a change then it will affect only peples who live in daytime saving countries as they already used to change thier clocks, so I hope esato doesn't followe daytime saving as a lot of peoples here are not using it and maybe doesn't know about it !!

imo esato should use it according the fact, that esato "hq" is based in norway, laffen "has the right" to use the clock as he wants. of course u are right, that esato is an international forum, but when u look at other forums, they also use "their time", according the country where the site is running.

I may agree, but Internet sites are related to the international internet timing wich does not use daytime saving, I'm not againest that esato using Norway local time, infact it's better for Esato to make Norway local time is the default timezone in the forum, and then let the members set thier timezone in thier Preferences page if they want...

the problem is only whith daytime saving, alot of users doesn't use daytime saving and not used to do any changes, even if they change it they will forget to change it later... but users who are used to have daytime saving are used to change thier time...

to make the thing fit for both sides, I hope laffen to include a ( use daytime saving ) option in the Preferences after the time zone option so no body will have to change the time zone as it will be automatically, and I don't think it's hard as it just one line for the time function near the time zone calculation code !!

this option is already available in other forums software like VB, IBB, phpBB

Another thing i have noticed is the absence of the +5.30 hour option in the forum preferences. How can, Esato negate the existence of India, Sri Lanka et all?
