Am new to Esato and this is my first Question.
Can any one confirm that IM clients like Fring/Slick/IM+ for SE P1 works on GPRS/3G connections. I have a 3G data package from my Operator, but none of the above IM clients works on that connection. Only works under WLAN. Am i missing something here ?
Am from Dubai and my network operator is ETISLAT. And i have checked my Internet Account Settings and its Priorities etc.
One more question, from these IM clients, Fring/Slick/IM+ which one is better and y?

Hmm... Does your operator have seperate APN settings for WAP and internet access? If other applications are working normally, it could be caused by your operator blocking certain ports for the access point you are currently using. Then again, maybe you already checked this since you said you checked your internet settings.
One thing worth trying is configuring the IM client to use a HTTP(S) proxy and seeing if that works. I know some clients allow you to do that in their settings.
To answer your other questions, I've been able to succesfully use Fring on my P1i over 3G/GPRS here in the Netherlands. I didn't like it so much though, and ended up buying a license for Agile Messenger, which I'm still really happy with. The other clients you mention I haven't used.
Hope this is of use.

yes i can open any website with the built in Opera Browser on my GPRS/3G connection. So my Operator is blocking my IM clients.
Is there a way to change the port settings in Fring/Slick or IM+
