so, not sure about moving to linux are we?? well here are some easy ways to test it before you go on and install it on your system:
1). go here: http://www.nomachine.com/testdrive.php
2). select "gnome OR "KDE" , it is available in both flavour's
3). accept the security warnings windows gives you, because open source applications have viruses... thats what Microsoft told me (it doesnt have viruses btw )
4). a new window will pop up with your linux desktop, ENJOY!
note: intenet May run slowly, if you like it get UBUNTU
and you can surf the net through it
if you do get ubuntu, it is allot more customizable than the demo

I can't understand why you're using Ubuntu though, OpenSuse is the canines reproductive organs

dunno why i preferred ubuntu, i had openSuse for a while before...
basically i got bored of the slowdown on my laptop so wiped the hard drive of windows vista
