I think it costs 450 bucks (more or less - ebay)
But do you think that it is worthwhile?
5megapixel camera + walkman megabass + beautiful 2.2 screen + awesome design + modern keypad
or should i go for a Walkman Phone + Digital Camera Cybershot 6.0 ? |

for a bit more you can get the N82 which is miles better than K850. Is the K850 worth it? From value for money point of view, a BIG no. |

i agree with mib1800.
N82 is better value for money. But it depends what your priorities are and what you like better. SE might suit you better than nokia in your opinion. |

I love my K850i. Although I'm biased as mine is branded & got it for a good deal $199 on 3yr contract plus unlimited on device browsing, video calling, video on demand, radio on demand (barely use the last one here). Being branded, its been thorughly tested so I don't have BROD, or Random reboots like others have been suffering from DaVinci firmware updates (less so from SEUS; but most that have, had done a DaVinci FW update previously).
If you don't need WiFi or a smartphone I think you'll be just fine ... but ONLY if its from your provider to make pricing MUCH MUCH cheaper! If you think you'll want MORE applications that have more functionality than Java 2ME apps ... then go for the N82 or hold out for a few more months (5 at least) to see what both Nokia, HTC, or SE offer down the pipe.
Personally the only reboot I had was today (I've owned mine for a little more than 2mths now) from browsing here on Esato on the Upcoming phones 2008 thread ... the thread with ALL the photos and double quotes of rumored UIQ phones of late?! Yeah I browsed 12 pages from first and jumped to page 452- 462 and holding the right O-pad to speed-scroll did it. Its not the phones fault in this case because all those pages was more than the 3MB browser buffer limitation that all new SE phones have.
Isolate what you want or expect in a phone and shop around. Make a list of 1st, 2nd, 3rd choice and see the pro's and cons for each. Finally search for user threads of those phones in your choices list and see which fairs better against known issues!
Cheers.

ITS NOT WORTH, The price of k850 almost droped around 300$ here, just within few months of release.why is that.think?U will get the answer
moreover durability and image quality and colours reproduced by camera are neither gud with K850.It doesnt have proper lens cover even to protect the camera lens
The silver keys on front Paint peels off soon, and the Phone is prone very much to scratches and fingerprints there by making it fugly after few days of use and requires constant wiping .get the N82, it will maintain its pristine condition however u abuse it.And u dont need a digital camera too
Regards.

With the N82 at almost at the same price and Nokia releasing firmwares supporting new features and enhancing the usability of its phones....it stands to see whether K850 gives a better value for money and is sad to see is forgetting its loyal users by not addressing our needs

i would get the k850i if i was you. i had a nokia n95 8gig and ending up having to get rid of that. even though it was a good handset it had lots of stuff on it that i never needed. the n82 is in my opinion not a good handset, the accelomter (i think its called) its too sensitive and too annoying and the buttons on it aint good. I am happy with the k850. Used to be a long term nokia fan, still am a fan of them but will feel i will be seeing out the k850 handset through the 12 month contract i have. all handsets have bugs on them, but they are always resolved one way or another. so i would go for this handset if i was u
