Hi all, ive just got a black w890 and m very pleased with it except the very low ring volume. I can only here tiny treble. I want to ask u al w890 owners, do u experience low volume or its just me. I ve heard its got stereo speakers, one at the back and other one the earpiece acts as spk. But when i keep my phone on a flat surface i hear almost no sound. i.e the front earpiece does not sound. Can some one comfirm am i right or wrong?
Thanks.

There is no mention of stereo speakers on the SE website. I know when it was released they said it has stereo speakers but I think it was a mistake.

Someone may have thought it was using both the front and back speakers because it is such a thin phone that when you put your ear to the front speaker, you'd easily hear the back one (its just over the other side).

Also, it is a very very thin phone so you can't expect great quality speakers. You just can't fit decent enough speakers into a really thin phone. Even the W910i speaker is pretty average. Its loud but the quality is bad.

If I were you I'd invest in some cheap SE portable speakers.

Its not. Its an A2 platform phone and can't be modded YET. Soon you may be able to though.

I got an Mp3 as ringtone and its loud enought (but not as loud as my modded k750i)

So choose or mix an MP3 and maximize its sound using cooledit before uploading it to your phone.

I got several techno-inspired ringtones I can zip and attach if anyone is interessted.

the phone DOES have stereo speakers. i've heard it myself on my silver w890i. my volume is fine, but the sound is tinny. i think it is tinny because the main case of the phone is made from stainless steel and because it is so thin.

as for the stereo aspect, play some music, hold the phone side on to your nose, and you will be able to hear the stereo for yourself. if its too quiet to hear with the phone on its back, why not just turn the phone over??? or try using headphones...
