Is there a cost? Or even an advantage in doing this? |

There is R6A012 for T68m/mc too. I upgraded my T68mc from R2E006 to R6A012 just a couple of days back. I upgraded through EMMA at and SE service center. There are T68m and T68mc specific R6A012 firmwares.

the first upgrade from T68m to T68i firmware will erase your phonebook, ringtones, pictures etc... but upgrades after that will not erase anything. |

no... you don't loose anything... to know what differences there are, use the search here on Esato since there are threads about the different versions |

However, it is advisable to take a backup of your phone before upgrading.
