not possible yet.

the nearest you will get to taking video is the video feed in the service menu or video call

K700i > K750i > K810i (current phone)

I know this is an old post but can it not be done with a patch, elf, app, new cam driver, anything????
Is anybody willing to give it a go?
It is available on Nokia's as old as the N70 lol, come on SE.

This would be great, just to take pics on it

Thanks, Luke

The camdriver for the front cam, only has video properties none for taking photos eg jpeg compression, so it would require a modded driver and java app or patch to take pics with it.

And at the moment such patch or code is not available... So the only way of taking pic with it is during video call. If there is no 3g network coverage available you can't make video call, so you can't take picture either.

Whooooo, i have just had an idea lol, first time for everything.

So go onto video call, options>layout>switch so your face is big, then simply screenshooter.elf

Simple As?

Would it work because you can't use sceenshooter while on the main camera taking a picture?

Thanks

Yeah that would be great for users that have elf patched phones. It may work. It may also work on my P1 on which I have screenshooter app installed. But there won't any way of taking a pic for DB3150 phones users or e.g.

You may succeed with K800 (or any other DB2020 phone supporting elfs), but won't make it on DB3150 platform phones.

Surely if you take the picture using a screen picture app,the picture will be the resolution of the phone that it is displaying. Not the actual size of the pic, which would be VGA?

The it shouldn't be even VGA... Maybe QVGA or lower... I don't think it works like that...

Why not?? If it takes a picture from the screen it may be able to take a picture of the video call camera app too.

Exactly the same result here, and the problem occurs when anything is moving (except themes). Video's, and both camera's. :@

I really like the idea though if being able to take a picture from it though :@.
Also similar to the ScreenShooter elf (which i love) can we not film out actions on our phones, great for tutorial's don't you think?
