Getting control of the Internet connection while conected via UMTS |

Dear all,
I can connect my laptop very easily and fast using my T650i as a modem. But I don't have a flat rate, I pay 0,24€/MB, and I don't want more than beeing able to start the msn messenger and some surfing.
The issue is that even when all applications are closed, Windows Update blocked, and the Windows Firewall also blocking 100%, there is a noticeably traffic of data which makes every connection much more expensive.
Any ideas hoy to control this?
btw. My Antivirus is AGV at my laptop.
Thanks a lot & Regards

Do you connect via Bluetooth or USB cable?
Some time ago I used to connect to the internet via a BT link on my wife's Z600. When not using the laptop I would hibernate it but that did not stop it connecting every 6 seconds to check for clock updates. On a casual data plan the cost went up pretty quick! I recommend using the USB cable for that reason. AVG updates everyday so that could be an issue too.

Thanks!
I connect with the cable since my laptop has no BT.
The antivirus runs once a day at the beginning of the connection, and it shows you the progress, so this is not the issue I'm trying to find I guess. I understand that once it finishes that's it. But I as I said before, there's still some data trafic which I hate!!
Thanks again
Regards
