get your sim back to your phone again and you'll have your number again

so, get it unlocked using a mobile shop's unlock service.

what network you're in? and what network is locked the w910?

Your phone number is specific to the SIM card, not the phone. So, whatever phone your put that SIM in will have your number.

Whether the SIM will work or not in your new phone is another matter. Some O2 phones are unlocked, and so will accept a SIM from any network. If it's locked, you'll need to get it unlocked. Then all you have to do is put the SIM card in... [addsig]

I understand, both simcards, old and new, are on the same network, O2 UK ?
So, when the the new simcard came with the phone, this will be locked to O2, when it's locked.

Where's the problem ?

I think the person didn't understand how simcards work. Not everyone is technically minded. Eg. My mum and dad would not have a clue about this kind of thing!
