Se will never learn..we don't need another buggy phone...Do something new...what will uiq 3.3 actually bring us? new interface? I don't need it because i think that uiq 3.1 interface is good enough...so give us some hope and do something original...just my 2 cents

I believe UIQ 3.3 is just UIQ 3.0 minus the bugs
Remember it's very different from the transition from UIQ 2 to UIQ 3 where a lot of changes were made in the OS layer that's why they're not even backward compatible.... |

@BoyBawang
That was also because that Symbian 9.0 was not backwards compatible to V8 ot V7.

Care to describe what great bugs there is on p1 or w960 with latest firmware? Even the oldest ones are not so bad, only are affected severely by hw limitations (lack of RAM). The g series uses plain uiq 3.0, and it seems even the current firmware is already stable. So that 'uiq 3.1 is uiq3 minus bugs' is bs, uiq 3.1 is the natural evolution of the platform similar to what is happening with s60 v3.
And why people mention UIQ 3.1? NO single SE will ever use it, and only the motorola z8 did. It wont be used anymore.

Actually i don't have problems with W960i using latest firmware! Firmware before that was bullshit (if you look closer m600i, P990i, w950i, w960i, p1i are using the same os) So how could after 3 years of uiq3 is present at the market they have similar bugs (or the same bugs) on this similar phones? I don't want to describe here (there are topics for that)what was the problem with my old p1i or m600i but the fact is that those phones was slow and buggy as hell. The new W960i using latest fw was close to be the best uiq 3 phone for now (at least most stable).

Consider that by the time the G700 releases the N82 would have dropped by about 20-40$ at least in India making it about 20$ more than the G700 and similarly priced or even cheaper than the G900, if I were buying a phone at that time and had to choose between these I'd buy the N82 hand down, I like getting value for my money and so does everybody else, unless they're fanboys. Just because eldar says something that maybe valid for the Russian market does'nt mean that it the same worldwide.
Also he forgets that if somebody wants a cheap touch screen you;ve got the Motorola ROKR E6 and MING which sells in quite large numbers in India and its over 100$ cheaper than the expected release price of the G700, also the P1i is at that price point at the moment, people would rather buy an AF camera rather than the non AF camera, the screen on the P1i is bigger as well, I agree they're aimed at different segments but they;re going to have an overlap here.
Eldar also forgets that the HTC TOuch is in a similar price range and is commanding reasonable sales. If somebody wanted to buy a touch screen, and since its riding o nthe iPhone wave it might even tempt people from buying the G700 with its keypad. And people want stylish phones as well, the G700 is quite plain in my opinion.
I'm not saying the G700 will fail, in all probability it wont, but you're looking at things through rose tinted glasses.
And regarding UIQ to be dead thats a load of rubbish, I know of a lot of work going on at Moto with regards to UIQ, a lot of teh work force has been diverted from LJ to UIQ.

Dear Akshay... I stated that try to understand what I mean but it seems you somehow got too serious or angry... The reason I asked Marc to read points from G700 review was so that he knows the positioning of the phone better that's it... Not what he thinks about other phones and how G700 is or not superior in price or features...
Also, when I translated from Mobile-review's G700 review, it translated the price from 300 Euros to 300 Dollars... And as soon as I realised that with the review in English, I corrected myself in the G-Series thread... You know 12,000 rupees as lauch price for G700 would have rocked and in two months it would haven fallen to 10k but it is not so... Nothing would have beaten the price to features ratio then... But now the launch price seems just like any other SE...
As for N82, what is it's current price??? Maybe around 20k... By July it would have come down to 18k??? At that time the G700 might launch for 16k??? Now compared to G700, N82 has much better camera, Wifi, GPS, Motion Sensor, what else, please mention if I missed something... On the other hand, G700 is much more compact and has a touchscreen with maybe a price difference of 2k... According to me, in such a case, both N82 and G700 have equal value for money... And all this is just an assumption just like you did...
As for you, maybe features is all that makes you get value for money and not whether you actually like a phone or find it comfortable to use or if it actually fulfills your needs...
You are right about E6, Ming and Touch being other options at a lower price but at the same time they are old now or they will in sometime...
Well I do not want to get into any argument with you which is not needed at all... The above lines may feel a bit harsh but that's not my intention and sorry if they do... I ain't looking at things through rose tinted glasses, but I only mentioned the positive side of things... |

Well. i take photos every single day with my p1, and upload to flickr with shozu...i donīt see any problem with the photos, hardly anything that can be considered an important bug...and its not something to attribute to UIQ3 anyway, its camera specific |
