A month back i purchased a sony cyber shot dsc t2 camera... which replaced me old Kodak 3.2mp camera...
Its features 8.1 mp, 3x optical zoom, 4 gb internal mem, 2.7" touch screen, smile detection, and loads of other features..

This camera really emptied my pockes but its not giving me fantastic photo quality as my kodak used to, the pics are not sharp ... i manually changed the settings but no improvement...
I even had a demo with the sony representative, but couldn't alter the settings to the best...
please can anybody tell me how to improve the photo quality??

I have one also, but I have no problems with sharpness or image quality! It seems perfectly fine in that aspect to me. Perhaps you have a faulty one. Maybe try taking it back to get another or for a refund?

Yes, but even so, I find the auto settings usually give perfectly good images. Try changing the settings and exploring anyway though!

I had a sony t20, which has the same type of settings, although it did take good pictures it wasnt up to the standard of my older fuji f30. ive never been a fan of the internal lens sony uses. never seem to produce as good pictures as a normal camera lens.

CNET asia gave this digicam average rating. i saw some sample image output from this camera and it looks a little soft for me. imo sharpness and color accuracy uncomparable to my old DSC-S40 camera although still sharpness is commendable enough. but if you are looking for a sony camera with very solid image quality look at the W-series (like W200/W100/W80/W90) Most of the cameras of the series are capable shooters which produces very high quality images. probably because of the larger/better lens design
