Please help with my V630i's vibrate! |

I recently gave my brother my SE V630i (K618i) after I got a new phone. He found that it only vibrated once when a new message came through, when it should vibrate 3 times in quick succession as usual with an SE. The thing is, when you turn vibrate on, it vibrates three times as usual, and when the battery is low, it vibrates three times as usual. In the test menu, it vibrates normally. When a call is received , it is fine too. The problem is only when a message is received!
The only possible causes I can think of are that it sat turned off for a couple of days, and that I attempted a firmware update when I stopped using it and there was no new update available, but I chose the update anyway option thinking it would refresh the phone a bit.
I am wondering whether someone else has experienced this and whether anyone knows how to fix it. The phone is in perfect working order apart from this, so I don't see why it isn't vibrating right. One vibrate is hardly enough when sometimes even three vibrates can't be felt!
Anyone?

Yeah I was hoping for another solution really, as I have a Mac and therefore can't update using my computer. My brother and I both don't have convenient access to a Windows computer at the moment, so it makes it hard.
Thanks anyway, if nobody else has a different suggestion, I'll have to try and sort an update out.

K so I'm gonna have to revive this, because I just yesterday managed to update my V630i. The problem was not solved, so I uninstalled SEUS then reinstalled it and tried again. Still no joy.
So does anyone have a solution which will get the normal three vibrates working again? Its quite annoying having only one vibrate!
Thanks very much to anyone that can offer a suggestion.
