Bug in P800 PC Suite???!! |

I have several different problems with syncing my P800 with MSOutlook XP. These are the problems;
- The sync software crashes sometimes
- After a sync, categories in Outlook OR P800 (adress, todo or notes) are not recognized, new items ends up in "unfiled"
- Some items (random) does not sync, sometimes to and sometimes from P800/Outlook.
- The sync sometimes takes 20-30 minutes sometimes only 5 min.
Clearly there are some bugs here. Anyone experiencing the same problem? I have the Swedish version of the PC Suite as well as on the P800. |

Hi!
I have also found lot's of problems trying to install and use the PC suite for P800, and now I am beginning to convert my keyboard taps to keyboard fisting in anger!!!
Installing the software took forever, I always got registration timeout errors when installing, only when I chose not to install the optional (but yet necessary) programs, it worked with the installation.
Now I am trying to sync and the P800 says "error" and the synchronization in the PC also says "synchronization error", since then, I cannot sync anymore, not even after reboot... GAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!! *kill, krush, destroy* |

PC Suite SUCKS! They really have to rewrite it and add more functoins to it!!! |

hello!
After talking to SE support I got one answer to my problems (they were not aware of the problems with categories not syncing...) I recieved the following fix for registration errors:
There is a solution to one of the problems if the user has earlier uninstalled a XTND Connect sync.
When installing P800 PC SW a number of registration errors occur
with the error message
'The specified module could not be found.'
Workaround:
For Win2000 or XP Run (in a DOS prompt or Run dialogue):
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\atl.dll
For ME Run (in a DOS prompt or Run dialogue):
%windir%\system\regsvr32 %windir%\system\atl.dll.
(The user may as an alternative reinstall XTND as an alternative
to regsvr32 but this is not a good solution as he really did not
want the XTND application)
Then insert the Pc Suite for P800 CD and in the Control Panel, Add
remove programs, Choose Pc Suite for P800 and choose repair. |

Hi!
I had same problem to sync with Outlook XP but I solved the problem.
But toady I want to make a backup of my phone and is NOT working.
I have made to backup before and today is not working.
Lot's of bugs in the PC suite!!!

Can you post how long it takes to do a complete sync with Outlook ?
I had a Nokia Commuicator before and I dropped it because the sync was so buggy and slow.
At the moment I use aTungsten T. Syncing it with a Notebook via BT takes <2 Minutes (with Mail Sync/Mobipocket News Channels and DocumentsToGo). I mean that is really fast. To sync only the pure Oulook Conduits with a few changes (as I sync on a regular base) would be definetely <1 Minute.
Would be great to some facst on the point.

I hade the same problem when sync with USB, but when I used my old cable at com1 it worked. It took some time the firs time, but now it takes under 1min, if i don't have made bigger changes. |

Now is every thing working but i still working very slow when I syncing.
I have clean up in regedit from old syncprogram.
It is very hard work and is difficult.
All old syncprogram must be uninstalled and then clean up in regedit and after that reboot the computer ann now you can install SE PC-suite.
The Coomupter I have is a Compar Armada M700 with XP Pro with the latest uppgrades from Microsoft.

I hope to get an answer from you before performing the tedious job of cleaning up registry manually.

Yes, it was exatly the same problem.
But if you can I recommend to make a new installtion of XP pro i yoy can and if not try to clean upp the registry manually.

hey float, where did you get your P800 from? I just bought in Manila for about RM 2,750.00, how much is yours?

Anyway i have a sync problem now too and try to resolve using the regsvr32. Will keep you guys posted!

no luck ... still doesn't sync.
I'm gonna remove my PC Suite for 7650 and PC Suite for P800 then re-install PC Suite for P800 only. Hope it works ... Shrugs i have no entries in my phone book and this is bad .... real bad ....
