Regret buying my S500i |

Hello this is my nag about my "mid range" S500i
i have used the phone now for about 6 months and dear god i regreat getting it. the buttons are all busted if i press the C > or down button wrong the active menu pops up it i Press the Back < or down button wrong i go online if i shut the phone to quick i get the active menu up while its locked. it doesnt always lock when i close the phone so i end up online or calling someone.
i feel i have been ripped for this as i payed £129.99 for it i havn't updated the firmware incase it bricks and i havn't used CID51 flash stuff before only K750/W800 (CID36) so im behind on the software modding side now.
i miss my W810  and i miss my light damn it!
anyway so i feel pissed off at :SE may go back to nokia again or even try a samsung next year i feel that considering if i spent £10 more and got the W580i which feels better on the hand slightly stronger and less buggy (for some reason) i would be happy but what can i do.
anyway feel free to mock or comment on for me

i do think that se's build quality is lacking.. but i still love 'em lol

A Carphonewarehouse staff member said to me that the W580i and S500i were 2 of the phones in their stores that are returned the most. He went on to say i would not recommende buying any of them phones. He then said WHY DONT YOU BUY A BLACKBERRY PHONE. I thought no way i would rather have a buggy SE than get one of them. Lol.

I know how you feel. I felt the same about my K850i, so much so that I sold it.
It's good that you've got it in for repair; hopefully they'll fix the hardware problems and update the firmware, which often makes a significant difference. It's amazing how differently you can feel about a phone when it's working properly, so I'd say sit tight and see how it is when you get it back from repair.

i had the exact same prob with my s500i,again only 6months old !!
I say take it back to where u got it from,they will fix it free of charge...
just did the same with mine n got it fixed!
Still not happy with it tho n wldnt recomend them to any1!
still got me w810i 2 fall back on thank fk!
prob go back 2 nokia again,

Wow so glad I got a S500i this week Weeeeee!
The battery cover was so hard to get off as well, dont get me started on the M2 cover AHhhhh
EDIT - cant you just buy another keypad from ebay for £3 / $6? I know its SE's fault not yours but still

I have a 2 weeks old s500 and iam satisfied with it. Looks solid for the time being. Very nice bright screen,good signal and call quality.
I put 2 giga m2 card,works fine.
Music through koss headphones is better than W890 i own. Sound is fuller and more dynamic. This dissapointed me because i was expecting newer dedicated walkman phones to have improved sound quality but i am afraid this is not the case. S500 beats W890 |

Yeah the call quality is actually the best I have ever had, blew my W950i out of the water, and I love the day and night theme, it has a great blend of form and function. But these build quality issues will most likely creep on the both of us to.
Also can you not get an even better walkman with the S500i by flashing it into a W580 – giving you walking 2.0 or something similar
