Suggestion: Could we have EMS pictures downloads on Esato? |

It seems really easy to have things like background pictures and ringtones available on Esato for people to download via WAP. Would it not be just as easy to have EMS pictures and some EMS sounds on the Esato site for people to download. Maybe even (dare i say it) a page to send EMS messages from.
This probably sounds like a feat of the impossible type but im sure if everyone chipped in and produced some little pics or sounds to be added then it would make light work.
Say what you think of this guys, and i dont want to sound like the newbie who wants everything this is lust a suggestion and was wondering how other felt?
Cheers

Yeah me too...
but i thought that the only way to get an EMS picture in to your phone was to recive it by SMS/EMS...
at least thats the only way i've got it to work...
coz u can't do it with MyPictures...
And if you upload the picture on a wap site the phone thinks its a background... isn't it so?

Nah im sure that there is a way to download EMS pictures, alls you have to do it tell the phone that is it a picture and not a background. Whoever made this site will probably know how to do it.
If you can receive backgrounds, ringtones, animations sounds and pictures via EMS there is no reason why you couldnt download them.

Somewhere on this forum someone posted a link for software from SonyEricsson that will allow you to convert Nokia Picture messages and ringtones (RTTL) to the EMS imelody formats. Has anyone tried to use it successfully?

Have you people seen these?
www.lemanmobil.com
www.nioki.com
These sites allow you to create your own EMS image, sound, ringtone and send it to your phone. Problem is they're not in English, so I can't understand what the site is saying. |

@ditzygal,
yeah i did. and this is how i did it.
a) downloaded WinSMS from www.winsms.com. it can send binary messages.
b) have the EMS developer's guide on hand (from Ericsson web site)
c) Use the EMS Converter to convert a Nokia RTTTL.
d) You need to create a header, which specifies the EMS content. Add the HEX output of the converter.
e) Send this as a binary SMS via WinSMS. |
