Got a replacement phone at the weekend (through insurance), got my K800i replaced with a K770i (vodafone).

Lovely phone but pics in dark environment no way as good as K800i.

Anyways, updated firmware yesterday morning (i'm in UK) and ever since it's unable to connect to network if there is poor 3G reception. Unable to send or receive calls for a few minutes at a time. At work where there is good 3G coverage there is no problem, but at home where coverage is ok the phone is unusable unless I go into the settings and switch to GSM only.

All my other phones work fine at home just not this K770i.

any ideas anyone? How could I 'go back' a firmware version?

Also, anyone tried the super camera driver on the K770i yet?

Interesting. I've also recently bought a K770i and have had similar suspicions about it - one or two people have told me they haven't been able to get through, even when the phone's been displaying a decent signal, and sometimes text messages don't send until the 3rd or 4th attempt. I'm using the latest Generic Europe 4 firmware R8BE001 but had this problem with a previous T-Mobile firmware as well.

One odd design quirk which could account for some of the signal issues is that due to the position of the camera right at the top of the handset, the antenna assembly is in the base of the phone, and if you hold your phone at the base, you can often see the signal drop a bar or two. I've taken to holding the phone by its edges when I'm texting.

That's unusual and probably the result of a bad flash. The latest firmware is fast and stable - I've not experienced any of the problems you describe.

Try flashing it again.

Yes, SEUS will update to CID53.

The latest Wotan client has debranding support for CID53 and the latest update from DaVinci says their client now supports DB2020 unlocking for CID53 by patch.
