2 bad things about P800. |

Hi folks.??There are two things I find very annoying about the P800.??1. When I use it's browser and select my destination to www.esato.com it connects to esato wap instead of esato web. Maybe because esato wap is coded in xhtml? Anyway it's annoying cause I haven't found any settings ot nothing that makes the build in browser connect to the Esato web site. I can however of course visit other web sites. Only way I've found around this is to use the Reqwireless (jAVA) WebViewer, which I'm using right now to write this message. ??2. When I'm using GPRS I cannot make or recieve any calls or sms'es. What's up with that??!??Please help me out ppl. There might be some settings or something I've missed(I hope).??Cheers |

You'll need to set up an internet account for Web browsing. If you are using telenor as your provider, you probably have set up one account for WAP allready.
The APN (called "Address" in P800) must be changed to "internet". Go to Control panel -> Inernet accounts -> Edit account (or create a new) -> Advanced -> Set address to "internet".
If APN is set to "wap" then you are connecting to Esato via your operator's WAP gateway, and the result is that you are served the WAP page instead of the Web page. |

i have the pre commercial p800, be4 i had it upgraded i was able to use either wap or the gprs accounts to surf, now that the phone has been upgraded to the latest f/w i can only surf via wap, the gprs accont allows me to collect my email. i did a restore after the the p800 was upgraded, so, the setting are the same, very strange.
any 1 able to surf using either wap and gprs settings on thier p800's ?
thanks

I think you misunderstood. I have set up my INTERNET account as well as WAP. The settings were actually surprisingly easy to make, I've never had any device that were this easy to configure WAP, E-Mail and internet. The problem is that I cannot choose when I wanna make an INTERNET connection or WAP connection. The P800 makes the choice for me.
Example; I type in www.esato.com in the browser and the P800 chooses to connect to esatoWAP. But this isn't really a big problem anymore because I found out that I can however LINK to EsatoWEB. I tried out the "P800 friendly forum" and klicked on a link which took me to the Esato WEB site.
Great job on the P800 forum, btw! Can't wait to start using it!
