UFS - Universal Flash Storage card.

About the same size as M2 but a bit longer. Nokia, Samsung are working on a solution to replace MicroSD and M2.

It sounds like another MMC Micro but with "great" features like a SUPER 300MB/sec high speed interface, low voltage and everything a handset mfg would love.

However, flash memory just doesn't work that fast. Or if parallel operations are used, battery life will go in the toilet.

Can someone explain??

I always thought MicroSD was going to be the end of it all, they can't really get any smaller. And what with SE slowly moving over, it makes sense to keep it.

If they want to upgrade the speeds, at least keep it in the same shell :/
