Just wondering why lens size is important. I figure one is better than other, but why is w810 camera lens better? I don't know why a bigger lens is better. Is the ccd chip on the w610 inferior? They are both 2.0 MP. Please explain

Bigger lenses allow more light to get to the sensor, with the end result of better less noisy pics.

Bigger lenses (usu.) have less distortion (in fact the least is "around" the centre, more at the edges). If you know the lens mod that was published somewhere on thr internet you can notice that one of the pros was that you can make use of the central part of the lens. And they allow in more light as was correctly observed.
