Well, it’s the big experiment. T-Mobile is just starting with these phones, here in Honolulu. Hopefully they’ll be here in time for Christmas! I’ve read many of the older threads but a few things stand out and I would like clarification on
I’m wondering the best way to get a contact list from my PC to the phone? I have over 4000 contacts in Act 6.0 and can create a delimited file with the 50-60 names and numbers I really need to add to the new phone. I’ve always used the Voicestream site to type the names and numbers and download them to the phone. Is this still the best way? This means I’d need to use the phone keyboard to add the additional numbers for Cellular, Work etc. How do you guys accomplish this task? Should I buy a compact flash BT adaptor to transfer data or get a USB cable? |

I use a bluetooth dongle on my computers and then sync my contacts in Outlook to my T68. It works great! Before I had the bt dongle I used a serial port cable and it worked fine also but slower. I prefer BT. |

Thanks for the replies! I picked up a Compact Flash BT adaptor. It includes a PCMCIA adaptor and this should work really good (I hope) since I already have readers hooked up to both my work and home computers. New question: I don't use Outlook, and would prefer not to have to install it. Is there another way to get names and numbers downloaded to my phone? I'm talking more like a one time download, I don't need to sync data. Any third party software out there that will allow a broadcast of delimited info to the phone? |
