evening all. having a little problem with my new 8gb microSDHC ive bought for my N82, the card isnt recognised when inserted into my laptop using the card reader that came with it.

the reader works ok with my 2gb microSD and the 8gb card works fine in my phone but its not being recognised by my PC.

any ideas? Im guessing drivers etc are the answer but i cant find anything on the sandisk website so if someone can point me in the right direction that would be ace.

cheers

Is it the really tiny red and black card reader? as if so i also found it wasn't always appearing to work the sloution i found works best for me is insert the card in the reader and then into the USB port and that seems to always work for me now.

The reader could only be a SD reader. To read SDHC cards you need a SDHC card reader.

@ Dogmann yeah thats the one mate. when i put the card in the reader then insert it into the pc nothing comes up in "my computer". if i put the reader in first a removable disk appears but when i insert the card and try and open it up it doesnt respond.

@ jcwhite_uk its an SDHC reader alright mate, its an official Sandisk one that came in the pack and has SDHC written on it.

also forgot to mention im on vista home premium 32bit.

OK that's a bit weird i also am running Vista Home Premium the only other thing i can suggest is when inserting the card make sure you really push it all the way in. Other than that i am stumped as to why it is not working as i understand the need as transferring using the card reader really is so much faster.

no worries dogmann its wierd mate i dont get it either :S

ive connected the phone in data transfer mode with the 8gb card in and the phones detected and i can transfer data so at least i can use the card, its just damn slow lol

also i tried using my home desktop pc which is on xp and that didnt detect the card either.

the card is being detected to some degree as when the reader is inserted without the card and i double click the icon it says please insert card, if i then put the card in and double click, the little circle starts spinning and the screen locks up so its like it knows somethings there it just cant read what.
