its only a dog if you ask me, people get far to attached to dogs cause they depend on you for everything

It sounds to me like you have never had the pleasure and experience that a dog can bring into your life, the unconditional love and unquestionable devotion they bring. They don't say a dog is man's best friend for no reason you know.
Also depending on what type of dog you choose there are many other things a dog can bring including the ability to protect you in times of need. Of course like anything in life you only get out of it what you put in, but i have been guardian to Dobermanns for close on 25 years and on many occasions have ensured my well being and safety a well trained and well socialised dog is a pleasure to own.
Here is a small clip of my current boy Otis when i was testing just how good and high his defense drive was as when i first got him as a rescue he exhibited a very high defense drive.

As you can see it means i have no fear going anywhere at any time and very much doubt i will be mugged or have my phone stolen.

Dogs are cute and cuddley and they dont give u any rubbish back im speaking bout guys. Most girls may prefer a pet pooch as a contempary pet rather than a boyfriend ! |

I've got loads of pictures of my pup on facebook. I love her to bits. She'll never guard me, but shes so loving and full of fun.

That was after i had only had him about 3 months at that point he has now been with me 30 months and is even more attached and protective of me.
Although he hasn't had to take a bite he has discouraged a small gang of youths a couple of times from doing anything silly quite quickly and effectively as you can imagine.
He is actually an Albino Dobermann so thankfully is very rare as they shouldn't be bred, but i have been guardian to Dobermanns for over 25 years now. Protection training of that kind should only be undergone in controlled and safe circumstances and by people that know what they are doing as the idea is not to have a vicious dog just one that knows how to defend you if necessary, and taking a bite is also the last resort not the first course of action.
