Hi Peeps,
Just started using this.

Been using Hotmail for years now.

When i get an email through Hotmail I get an alert from that little 'green man' icon in the corner.

Does Google have anything like this? To tell me I have a new email?

All help appreciated.

Thanks.

Go to www.google.com and then click "sign in" in the top right hand corner. I think after that its straightforward.

unless you can find a US proxy, you are going to have to stick with a googlemail.com addy. they had a dispute with some company that claimed they owned the gmail thing - (edit) http://mail.google.com/mail/help/intl/en-GB/googlemail.html should explain it a bit more.

ive just sent an email to my googlemail.com addy using @gmail.com instead of googlemail.com and it worked
