Hi looking for a Dvd player that plays Divx/Xvid files and with a built in USB function, anyone seen one!

Want to spend no more than £50.

I have a Philips one, will let you know the model number as soon as I find it

It plays divx files fine, and can also play movies through USB... I just connect my ipod to it and play films through that.

Also it's not too expensive, should be able to pick one up now for £50.

I have the Philips too. its model DVP 5960 and has a great spec for its price. I got mine form Sainsburys when hotukdeals showed a price reduction for them down to £39.99

the USB port on the front works great and I've plugged both USB memory sticks and external hard drives into it.

Divx ultra is certified

The drive itself it not HD, but it can upscale to 1080i and has a HDMI connection as well as the usual scart and phono.

its available on Amazon for £40.99

it is multi region but generally comes region locked so here is the keystrokes to convert it

1. Turn on the unit
2. Open the loading tray
3. Press the "Setup" button on the remote
4. Navigate to the "Preferences" page using the right arrow key
5. Enter 138931
6. You will now see the current region code displayed
7. Use the Up/Down arrow keys to select the region required or "0" for all regions
8. Press the "Setup" button on the remote
9. Press "OK" on the remote

here is the Philips product page for it including PDF downloads of the manual etc
