Recently i bought a w950i. All the features are working except for GRPS
(INTERNET). I had requested for AIRTEL LIVE settings from Airtel and installed them like 20 times by now. And each time i failed to connect. Says "COULD NOT CONNECT TO REMOTE SERVER". The GRPS status is always either DETACHED or UNAVAILABLE. I have a POST PAID connection. How can i set up the GRPS manually. I still have the AUTO SETUP settings in my inbox. Can anybody help me on this regard? TIA

Hi

To setup up the gateway etc manually please call your provider and ask them for the details.

I've given up! nothing works out! i bought this mobile through an online shopping site. there is always a risk buying something online, but i took the risk. n luckily when the handset arrived, it was more than what i'd expected. so i don't wanna take a risk again n send it back to the seller. god knows in what condition they'll send me back the handset. but i still think i'm missing out something and not the handset that's not working. nebody else use w950i? with an AIRTEL CONNECTION? who can tell me how to set up AIRTEL LIVE step by step on a w950i?

One thing you should have done and another you shouldn't have done. You should have followed hac_king's advise before you had "given up".And you shouldn't have bought the phone online as you have the ability to enjoy the common rights a person should have, and buy a phone from a local, national or even international Sony Ericsson mobile store.Even if you have bought a phone online,it should be able to browse GPRS and open atleast a wml site.Oh yeah, first of all check whether there's a G signal on the default screen of your phone. It should be at the top left of your screen. And when you try to open an address,be sure it's still there. If it's not there, then call the customer care and tell them that you wanna activate Airtel live. You may have to send a sms or something. After activating, delete the one or two settings sent to you and then sms "LIVE" without quotes in capital and send it to 2567.You will receive two sms along with the settings.DON'T press the red button as it will delete the settings.Select show then select save then it will ask whether to activate it in web.select yes. Then open the homepage or live.airtelworld.com .If it doesn't open, try king's settings. It WOULD open. You were too impatient earlier.

Eureka!!!...it's working now...thanks a lot guys...it worked only when i took the chance and called customer care and asked them to activate MOBILE OFFICE (paid service) on my phone. I thought I'd first ask for AIRTEL LIVE(free service) and if it worked, go for MO too. But AIRTEL LIVE never worked in any possible way. But interesting enough, when i asked them for MO, they sent me AIRTEL LIVE's settings. The setting as per the phone are same for both MO n LIVE. They use AL's settings as the gateway n do some extra settings for MO. Phewwwww...but anyways...Thanks a LOAD guys!!! CHEERS!!!
