Question about Nokia N95 |

I talked to someone who is selling the Nokia N95 that was purchased in Thailand. He told me his N95, the earlier version, does not have UMTS (3G), is this correct? I was under the impression N95 comes with 3G.
Would someone clarify this for me. Thanks! |

No,the N95 should have 3G, its a 3G UMTS AND 3.5 HSDPA phone, even the early ones have 3G and HSDPA.

so, the guy i spoke to who got the N95 from thailand could very well be an imitation since he said it does not have UMTS.
on the more curious note, the phone review section here says N95 does not have UMTS as well. the box has an X to it. see review ..

The N95(1) doesn't have the American band 3g - just the european band. Nokia later released the N95 2 which enables 3g capability in the u.s. |

thank you for everyone's input.
i met with the seller this afternoon. he was selling this item WITHOUT the box, NO headset, NO CD, NO USB cable - just the unit and the charger. i had to ask myself if this is a stolen device. on top of all that, he was asking US$500, what a joke. |

I have a couple of questions.
How well does Tom Tom run on the N95 and N95 8gb? Do they work well with bluetooth GPS units? |

yes, they work well, sdaly, the buiit in gps doesnt communicate with tomtotm... itsa lso better to use an external gps with n95, the built in one is a bit outdated already. for fun its not that bad, i have to admit

Thanks boba, thinking about getting one cause of the better screen. Although I find the touch screen really useful with Tom Tom on my P1i it's also annoying cause not all the icons are finger friendly and after playing with the iPhone they should be lol.
The N95 has also got a bit of a cult status, I would get a non smarty but as Tom Tom won't run don't have a choice.
Is the older N95 fast? Watching you tube videos show the latest firmware as being fast, I also like the media menu when you slide the front down compared to the newer model. |

its fast, trust me. i had no problems with it, just dont run way too many apps in the background. n95 8gb is more faster.
