I have bluetooth on all the time. Beacause it doesn't draw that much power and it saves me the hassle of having to turn it on every time I sync it with my computer or do other bluetooth stuff

I never use IR but have Bluetooth on all the time to make for easier use of my Bluespoon and sync with my PC. It works fine but wish there was a way to turn off the blue BT light on the T68.

With the T68i BT and IR only come on togther when you use the option to receive and item.

To have them both on will be a drag on your battery. BT is ok to have on. Once it is not in Discoverable mode the power is lesser.

Use Automatic if you have the headset and only use it then.

The SonyEricsson Bluetooth headsets work with the T68i on "automatic" mode for Bluetooth, this is not always the case with other makes of Bluetooth headsets (which is why my has it's blue light working all the time).

I don't have infrared on all the time as this drains more power than Bluetooth does, besides you need to be in line of sight of another infrared device to make it work - so if you have to make the concious decision to line up your phone and other infrared device, you may as well click a few buttons and switch on the infrared (via a shortcut for 10 minutes perhaps).
